In the conflict-hit eastern provinces (especially North Kivu, South Kivu and Ituri), more than 2,500 schools and learning spaces have either closed, been damaged or repurposed (e.g., occupied as shelters).

We are the Future of congo

A youth-led community movement committed to transforming lives affected by exploitation and displacement across the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Purpose

Many of us grew up in Congo or were raised by Congolese families, and we understood firsthand how conflict impacts children, families, and communities.  We couldn’t stand to watch our home continue to suffer in silence, so we decided to act.

Millions are displaced. In eastern DRC, 6.5 million people, including 2.6 million children, are reported as internally displaced due to violence and conflict.

We started this movement because we saw a deep gap between the potential of our people and the reality on the ground in the Democratic Republic of Congo especially in the eastern regions affected by conflict, displacement, and poverty.
