A partnership rooted in possibility
Since January, The Future of Congo and Ms. Rachel have shared a commitment to supporting families in Congo. Together, they helped create Tumaini Space in Goma: a welcoming place where mothers can care for their well-being, develop practical skills, and connect with one another while their children are at school.
A place to feel heard - and to move forward
Many mothers carry the daily weight of providing for their families while navigating stress, loss, and other mental health challenges. At Tumaini Space, they have room to speak openly, receive support, and find strength in community. The space also offers training in trades that can open paths to income and greater independence.
The progress is personal
The mothers are learning, participating, and growing more comfortable sharing their experiences. Every new skill and conversation is a step toward confidence. This is the work of The Future of Congo: creating opportunities that support children at school and empower the women caring for them at home.
We are grateful to Ms. Rachel for believing in the people of Congo and helping bring this vision to life. Her partnership is helping mothers find hope, support, and the tools to shape their own futures.
